1.inviolable sovereignty of the state tenth amendment, 6th article federal outranks state.

2.They are challenging them at the state level because they know the state will listen and they have a chance of getting what they want. The state government is more likely to respond to the local opinion. And if enough of these small scale public out  cries occurs then it is likely it will effect the federal level.

3. Yes very much so, they can choose to ignore the will of the federal government which some states are already doing in order to get rid of health care.

4.Prof. Ruthann Robson-liberal aka bad guy supports federal superiority, Thomas E, Woods Jr. for states rights including nullification.

5.If more was decided on the state level then you would see the states leaning extreme to one side or the other and the people would start to shift to a state making significant boundaries between the states.

6. Well if you accept it then you would be mindlessly happy just because your side won and would have to worry less, also being much less arguments about your state that people just don’t understand. The problem being the people in control would have no problem getting something passed that may not be good for you.

7.The federal government exist to support and protect the people living under its roof, major jobs being military tax collecting and international affairs.

coup in Kyrgyzstan

http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/93555?fp=1

The president has fled Kyrgyzstan, This was a former part of the USSR which was as you well know one of The United States worst enemy’s during the cold war. We have a major military  installation in the area so should the new region become aggressive due to past events we could be forced to withdraw. But who is the leader of this new country you may ask? its Ms. Otunbayeva, 59, was leader of the army to throw President Bakiyev from power. She has recently done away with the country’s parliament and said that she would be the one heading up the interim government until an election could be held in six months time. So the big question is how does this affect us? well its primarily in the military base that affects us. its been used to move troops into Afghanistan and so we could lose a major foot hold in the region. But i feel that the new country will be a better one. as the old one was rated one of the most corrupt country’s in the world. so i believe any change is a good one.

realism vs. idealsim

Posted by: | April 8, 2010 | No Comment |

Idealism-any system or theory that maintains that the real is of the nature of thought or that the object of external perception consists of ideas.

realism-interest in or concern for the actual or real, as distinguished from the abstract, speculative, etc.

Lee was in fact more of an example of idealism, he could envision the battle field and he could see how the battle would turn. The generals he fought were more of an example of realism, they reacted to how they were attacked or saw an opportunity. Much like a game of chess the player who can predict were the other person will move or get them to move will be victorious. This was also a weakness as he was so confident of his abilitys to win he ignored the obvious risk of loss. This was eventualy the reason he was deafeted at Gettysburg. Yet no general could match his record, he defeated many of the Union army’s while being drastically out numbered.

The quake struck south of Mexicali, Mexico, at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, but damage also was being reported north of the border. The city capitol collapsed, the earthquake affected over 900000 people. Its strange to think that so many major earth quakes have happened in such a short amount of time, the Haiti earth quake, the Chile earthquake. to be honest the Haiti one, while not the largest had the most impact. The most people died in it and it was the poorest country in the world. But maybe this was just what Haiti needed. Could the earthquake that claimed countless lives possibly helped them more than hurt? With their new found publicity they have received more help in that time than possibly ever. It has saved these people, with all the financial aid, food and fresh water and troops to keep order I believe the earthquake was a blessing.

  1. Looking back, what do we know today about this event that they didn’t know then.
  2. How is this event relavant to us today?
  3. What can we learn about courage and bravery?
  4. What are the characteristics of a person who overcomes a daunting challenge?

1. I think that the most obvious is that the military was going to be their and that this was not a violation of states rights so much as peoples rights and no matter your skin color you are a human being just like everyone else.

2.This event led to what is a kind of payback for the racism that was back then. My dad has lost more than one promotion because they were equally qualified and the man was ethnic.

3.You can learn that when you know that your right its worth standing up for because chances are someone else is being treated the same and someone agrees with you, being treated unfairly is never worth standing aside for. The greatest leaders saw something they found to be wrongful and sought to change it even when everyone apposed them.

4.The person is courageous, willing, faithful and can get up even after failing over and over again

Little Rock 9

Posted by: | March 7, 2010 | No Comment |

The little rock nine was an event after the Supreme court decision to integrate the blacks into White schools. Little Rock Arkansas had decided to ignore their states rights and used the national guard to enforce their decisions. This action later led to national debate as to whether this was a violation of rights which led to today’s events which is the opposite reaction which is to compensate for blacks by taking job opportunities and other privileges.

Which chunk of information will affect me the most?  It will be most likly the early retirment. Should my parents stop working and then if the health care bill gets signed then chances are their benifits will be dropped and they will have to go back to work. When they get older I will have to pay for their expenses because the Government will no longer pay for their medical needs. And with us having to pay for all of those people who dont have jobs or refuse to work and get benifits. Thats stealing right out of my pocket and I will be streched to thin to pay for everything whcih means A I will have to become rich or B. stop paying Taxes so I can support my parents.

Well when competition is so high it can cause kids to make uneducated decisions that can cost them severaly. It’s not their fault so much as their coaches fault. The coaches are there to say. “enough your going to hurt yourself.” When this is failing to occur then they need to be releaved of their coaching status. No kids future is worth a few years of football of someother sport. It’s good to see that 41% of kids are only going back to soon as opposed to what could be a much higher percentage. What should be done is have doctors given the ability to tell coaches parents and the kid that they can’t go back for x amount of days.
